BINGHAMTON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – Family and Children’s Counseling opened a new facility in Binghamton to address the increasing need for mental health and addiction services.
The new, 9,000 square foot, two-story building, was built directly next door to the agency’s long-time offices on Main Street.
Family and Children’s Counseling Services says the new facility better meets the needs of its clients.
Including expanded substance use treatment and recovery programs, upgraded HVAC system for air quality, more off-street parking, and improved accessibility for people with disabilities.
The CEO, Lisa Hoeschele says the new space improves access to recovery services, including medication-assisted treatment.
“We are an integrated setting so, we understand that mental health and addictions are two sides of the same coin. This project allows us to have a space that’s filled with light, that’s a beautiful space for our clients to really cultivate the resilience that we hope they’ll be able to cultivate to get to a better place in their lives,” says Hoeschele.
The agency secured over $4 million of the $5 million project from grants from the state, Broome County, and the City of Binghamton.
The project also revamped the lobby in the original building.
